If you work for clients abroad you know the routine: send an invoice, wait three to five working days, lose a few percent to the bank and the exchange rate, then chase the missing amount. Stablecoins like USDT and USDC fix most of that. A payment arrives in minutes, the amount stays steady in dollars, and there is no intermediary bank.
What you need
A Cryptain account and one store. The store can be your portfolio site, or just your name; it holds your settings and branding.
Send your first invoice
- In the dashboard choose Invoices → New invoice.
- Enter the amount in your usual currency, a description such as "Website redesign, milestone 2", and your client's email.
- Click Create. You get a link and a QR code; we also email the link to your client if you added their address.
The client opens the link, picks a coin and pays. You get an email, a dashboard notification and, if you connected it, a Telegram message.
Make it look like a real invoice
Clients pay faster when the invoice looks like the ones they already process.
- Add your business name, address and tax number in your account. They appear on the PDF invoice and receipt.
- Upload a logo for the store so the checkout shows your brand, not ours.
- Agree the coin and network in writing before the work starts, for example "USDC on Base".
Retainers and monthly work
Set up a recurring invoice for the monthly amount. Each period your client gets a fresh link by email, and their customer portal lists every invoice they have paid or still owe.
Turning stablecoins into local money
Cryptain settles in the coin the client paid. To move it to your bank, withdraw to an exchange account you already use, sell for your local currency there and withdraw to your bank. Check the exchange's fees and limits for your country before you agree a coin with clients.
Keep your accountant happy
Under Reports you can download a monthly statement and a CSV of every invoice, with the amount in your currency at the time of payment. Tax treatment of crypto income differs by country, so share these with an accountant who knows the rules where you live.
